My Country T'is of Thee

It happens a lot in America,
We are a nation of crossword puzzles.

Periodically, we react to a collective allergic reaction,
and we trot to make name changes.

Native Americans used to be Indians
Afro Americans used to be Blacks

Before Civil Rights, blacks used to be Negroes.
Before Emancipation, the Colored were niggers.

Gay used to be happy
Now, its happy with weakness of wrist.

Once, I was a half breed.
Now, I am mixed.
