The love of God which folks hold true
do not stop us from committing blessed homicide.
God, at best, is like Robert Frost's Mending Walls
of which good fences make good neighbors.
You and I,
here in Topeka,
me a Jew, you a Muslim
are we polite and very congenial.
I would not dream of bombing your mosque
nor you of tearing up my Torah,
unless we were back in the Holy Land
where the more things change,
the more they march steadily backwards.
